General information
So the Final Fantasy XI Config tool is linking to the false controller setting tool. The fact is POL.exe is loading the controller configuration from EU but the game FFXI is loading the settings from US. So this must be an bug maybe since the language drop. I can now also say Final Fantasy XI is fully playable in Windows 10. We are currently performing operation verifications so that FINAL FANTASY XIV can be played on “Microsoft Windows 10”, the next OS to be officially released by Microsoft on Jul. The verification process is scheduled to be completed in mid-August, but if any issues should occur, more.

Increased Draw Distance[edit]
The normal way to change draw distance is the /localsettings command in-game. It is possible to increase the draw distance beyond the max using this Windower plugin: http://wiki.windower.net/plugins/drawdistance
Change max number of displayed characters on-screen[edit]

Issues unresolved[edit]
Frame rate[edit]
The max frame rate for the game is 30 FPS. If you are not finding your frame rate near that, it can help to turn off shadows in the in-game options.
Also try removing all USB devices. In the past, it was found that certain USB devices would cause a frame rate drop.[1]

The game typically does not stay open if another program is in fullscreen mode. If something opens in fullscreen mode, FFXI will most likely close/crash.

Final Fantasy Xi Windows 10 Direct Play
Great for those whole like a keyboard and mouse over a controller with more of a graphics upgrade then a current console can offer. I was able to run the demo on all High settings with a average FPS' of: 78-80 indoors, 71-76 FPS outdoors, and in combat 67-70. This was on a 27' monitor 2560x1440. I'm sure with higher end cpu's and gpu's anyone can easily achieve higher fps no problem on the highest settings at 1080p. But if you want to really enjoy the game play it at least on1440p, like most games on pc 1440p is that middle sweet spot, better than 1080p and just under 4k. *Off: AA, MB, & GMP.
